The Cocoa Bean Company is a family run business established in Twynholm, Dumfries and Galloway in 2005. We are rapidly growing as a much loved and trusted brand with some strong international markets for our chocolate products as far afield as Australia and Canada. We have another outlet in Hawkshead in Cumbria and a third opening in Braehead, Glasgow this summer.

The CocoaBean Company’s unique offering includes chocolate workshops for children and adults, indoor and outdoor play areas, café, chocolate shop and our large Marquee hosts various functions all year round from weddings to party nights.

chocolate dessertDue to the on-going success of our business and an ambitious expansion programme, we are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our busy team at Twynholm (25 miles west of Dumfries), to assist in the day to day running of our kitchen and to cater for weddings and other events throughout the year. You will be working closely with our head chef who will support and develop your skills. You must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in baking, desserts and pastry
  • A passion for food
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure

Your duties will include ordering and monitoring stock, as well as managing food safety.

Normal working hours will be 9am to 5pm, 5 days a week across 7 days however as we are a popular destination for functions you will also be expected to work evenings so flexibility is essential.

Chocolate Workshop/Cafe Staff (Braehead)

children with chocolate facesThe Cocoa Bean Company are about to undertake some exciting expansion plans for the business, and as a result of this we have a number of exciting recruitment opportunities for our brand new store opening in Summer 2017 in Braehead, Glasgow.

Our premises in Soar @ Intu will incorporate three unique elements: a chocolate workshop offering fun educational sessions for children to get “hands on” in making their own chocolate products, as well as providing chocolate making workshops for adults, a café for adults and children alike to relax and enjoy a quality experience and sample our top-notch products and a retail unit for customers to purchase our products.
